I know this is a long shot and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but...
Do people ever rent out their touring caravans when not in use? The reason I ask is that I have 3 weeks before I have to move out of this property. As per my previous thread, I am looking at living in a caravan full time. This is the plan now and I'm currently just waiting for some more funds and for the right caravan to pop up (can't rush these things).
In the mean time, to tide me over, my sister has offered for me to use her Caravan. It is THE MOST grim thing I've ever seen. Absolutely horrific. Aside from the whole thing being incredibly filthy I have been through it all and tested what I can with my limited knowledge. The fridge/freezer won't work off gas or electric (connected to 240v). 1 of the hobs works barely. The grill works but the oven doesn't. Heater also doesn't work with gas or electric. to top it all off, I can't even find the water pump and apparently it was removed by it's previous owner for seemingly no reason.
So in desperation my first thought was how to meet my needs. I have EHU so I was going to get a small oven and a compact fridge/freezer. For hot water I can boil a kettle and for cold I have a pressure pump I could use for cleaning and a bottle of water for drinking. This all sounds like madness I know (and it is) but I'm struggling to find any other way to cater for my needs.
To top it all off she has just said to me that I'm being stupid if I buy a small oven etc and that I'm going over the top when I should just fix it. I'm a handy person but an early 90's caravan with all these problems when I have just three weeks to get out of this property is perhaps asking a little too much.
Can you tell I'm a little stressed? My worry is that I will end up just buying the nearest bag of spanners caravan I can find just to get out of my situation and that is unlikely to end well.
