Hi

You had a Mazda 2.0Ltr petrol but it wouldnt tow your van? But the Mondeo does and its a 2.OLtr as well!! Fair enough Deisel does have better low down torque , but would have thought the petrol version would have done the job .

I have a 2 Ltr petrol Mazda 6 and pulls my van no problem ,van weighs in at 1320kg MTPLM.

hi Dougie! With the motormover, our van is close on the weight of yours. We needed a mpv type vehicle as my OH is of stocky build and needed the room this car gave plus it was ideal for when the g/kids came away with us.The info mazda techs gave us was xmatched with ccc and whattowcar and all seemed ok.so purchase went ahead. However,on bringing our van out of storage, the car "died a death" on the slightest incline encountered! It was 2nd all the way up!I surfed the net and found "Mazda forum" and "Honest Johns forum" and told them of my problem. Both agreed the Mazda 5 would not tow my van satifactory and that I had been given wrong information. It seems the the 5 will really struggle with weights over 85%.Towing the 5,our th % came out at 93-5%.The mazda 6 however would have no problems.
