replacement handbrake cable

Hi

when away last week with my Bailey Pageant Series 5 Bretagne I managed to shear the handbrake cable, is it an easy job to replace or should I book it in?

Many thanks, in anticipation Julie

Julie do you mean the brakeaway cable usualy red in colour at the front of the A frame? Or the main service brake cable underneath the caravan runs between the wheels? The former is very easy to replace.Unless you are competant and have the correct equipment to remove the brake drums and wheels etc that would be a dealer or mobile fitters job for the main cable.

Julie, the breakaway cable is easy enough to replace, but depending on what fitment may be physically hard to remove the old parts and clamp th enew cable fitment in its correct place.

thanks for that, will look under "A" frame at weekend to see whether can manage it, if not will book it in, as always can rely on fellow enthusiasts to come to the assistance of a damsel in distress!
