I want to replace the mixer tap on the kitchen sink of a 1992 Fleetwood Colchester as it is weeping and cannot be repaired.

The tap does not have its own microswitch. The body of the tap passes through a single hole cut in the worktop between the sink and wallboard and this is the only place it can go.Its a very tight fit.Having passed through the worktop, the moulding subdivides to accommodate the hot and cold supplies.

Does anyone know please which current models might be suitable

i.e. has anyone done this on the same type of tap?

Hi Steve

I recently had to source a replacement mixer tap for my 'van. The original tap makers were "gone" and the tap was quite an unusual design. I found 3 possible companies producing taps

(1) Whale

(2) Comet Nova

(3) Reich

Reich have a VERY EXTENSIVE range of tap types with various fittings and sizes. Their website is www1.reich-web.com/ and this has helpful photos and technical diagrams with measurements, etc. Their UK customer service number, on the website, were very helpful too for advice and will provide a list of stockists local to yourself (they don't sell direct).

I found putting any of the company names into "google" produced lots of online suppliers.

I got a Reich replacement from Harringtons, Cheshire and it is now fitted and working beautifully.

Happy hunting

Tim

Hi There

Is your tap a whale consort? They were in many vans around that time. If it is then they are fully servicable - two o rings and a washer are in the taps to prevent dripping. You can get the washers/ orings from a plumbers merchant.
