Replacement Radio/CD player Head Unit

Hello all; my Bailey Senator has a Panasonic CD and RDS radio fitted. That's all fine but I want to replace it with a head unit that will also offer me an AUX input so that my Satellite receiver audio (TV / Radio) can feed into the head unit and hence use the semi-decent fitted speakers (as opposed to the pathetic speaker in my 15" LCD TV).

Secondly (and this may be the hard part), I'd like a unit that allows me to plug in a pair of ear phones at the front so that I can listen to the unit privately (late at night / early in the morning). That requirements may be a bit more tricky because these Head units are designed for cars right ?

Any ideas / suggestions please?

Thanks

John

John,

As you say, these units are primarily designed for cars, aux in on the front panel is not such a problem, but you will have to change the whole unit as just the head (face) units are not interchangeable.

There are some models that also have sockets for ear phones, but they are few and far between and expensive!!!!

A cheaper option might be to wire the "rear" speaker wires to a phono socket, and then use the fader to change from the caravan (front) speakers to the ear phone (rear) speakers connected through the phono socket.
