Having read the letters posted in the Pratical caravan forum August edition, It begs the question if any members of the caravan club have ever had children! If you don`t want to see, never mind hear children they should attend, as one letter suggested Adult only sites. We as a family are fairly new to caravaning(one year only) but both my wife and I remember our childhood days of "freedom" around the caravan site and well beyond. Unfortunately, those days have changed as we would not allow our children outside the campsite on their bikes. We respect everybodys peace and tranquilty, but is there any harm of a nine year old with his cricket bat and tennis ball. it certainly won`t harm any body`s caravan, as a chap call- Steve with his mallet suggests (Aug 2007 edition) Prehaps children ought to be given a bit of a break considering the restrictions that are placed on them compared to my childhood (30 years ago) and you never know by allowing children to play ball sports we may produce a future England cricketer!
I am pleased to say that we have met some wonderful people both young and old on caravan sites over the last year.Unfortunately these people are not represented on the letters page of Practical caravan- so if this is published it may bring a sense of reality or perhaps normality
Regards
Alistair
