IÔm considering buying a caravan in Germany.

Has anybody had any experience of reselling an imported caravan here or selling them on again abroad?

Secondly, what about servicing them here. IÔve read a lot about UK dealers refusing to service them.

Many thanks

Hi Derek,

Try putting Hobby caravan club into your google search engine, this should bring up their club for members. I'm sorry i don't have their full web address - but it should be easy to find. As you probably know Hobby are a German company. You will learn all you need to know on there about importing their vans etc. By all accounts they are excellent quality and quite cheap. But the downside is the door is on the wrong side and they are much heavier vans than our own makes.

Hope this helps and good luck with your search.

Tony.

hi

just read the reply say that hobby (+other makes)caravans are heavier than english ones, i'm in the process of looking for a new caravan under 1200kg and that cancels out nearly all english caravans with 4 berths especially if i want to stand up, being 6'5'

having the door on the "wrongside" is that a real problem? how often do you park at the side of the road, mostly on motorway carparks or campsites
