Two of my blinds - 1 fly screen and 1 blackout - are now refusing to roll back up when pulled down. Any advice on how to rectify would be appreciated. Can the springs be re-tightened or will they have to be replaced. Can I dismantle and do it myself?

Many thanks for any advice

Normally at the top left hand end of the blind you should find two round plastic circles with a slot in the centre, use a suitable sized screwdriver and press the buttons in and tighten in a clockwise direction for 3 or 4 turns and ease the button out without removing the screwdriver(if you remove the screwdiver befor they lock in place they will completely unwind)
If the initial tension is not enough, repeat again until you are happy with the tension, BUT , do NOT over tension or you will damage the blinds.

You may have to release the top cassette and move it towards you to gain access to the adjusters

Have you tried lubricating the spring area first.
One of mine became very stiff and refused to retract.
Lubricated with WD40 (straw thingy needed to get into the mechanism) during a service and whips back now.

as said there are 2 adjusters at the top on the left side of the casset. 1 tightens the insect screen& 1 tightens the sun blind.
If you have to dismantle the unit to reroll the blind the most difficult part is getting the unit fixing screws out.once you have it away from the wall they are very simple to repair & reassemble.

To prevent this we always on our last caravan, stored the caravan with the blinds open, the springs don't weaken then.
We use the curtains to keep the sun out.
All the blinds still worked after 7 years, never had a failure.

Thank you all very much for your advice. The caravan is in storage so I will go up, with tools, and have a look this week.

Thanks again
