Returned to the future

Hi all just returned to caravanning after 20years. Bought new Bailey Burgundy and towing with a RAV4. Wow! how vans have changed. Last one was 12'6" and coped with 2 adults 3kids and a dog. I now wonder how we managed. Looking forward to next outing in March.

Hi Ian

I am Sam, and am also new to the forum.

We start our new venture next month when we collect our Sprite Major 6. My parents bought their Burgundy this year and after a few weekends away in it we were totally hooked on caravanning.

I have become a bit of a carvan nerd, and am so excited at owning our own.

The Burgundy is a lovely caravan, I am sure you will really enjoy owning one. "Happy Caravanning"

Hi Ian. Like you, when we were growing up in the 70's we had a 12' Sprite Alpine caravan and managed perfectly well with Mum, Dad, me, my brother and our Nan! Gas lamps, no hot water and an old car battery in the awning to power the little strip light. Those were the days! As you rightly say, caravanning's moved on a lot since then and is now so much more luxurious (and expensive!) Still the same great people and comradeship though. Enjoy!
