Returned to touring.

After a gap from touring of a few years - between the kids losing interest and eventually becoming independent - and much chatting about it and thinking we MIGHT one day return to it, SWMBO and I have taken the plunge and bought another tourer. A 2007 Delft Platin 470TFB that will be towed by a VW Passat 2.0 Tdi estate,a more modest outfit than the Hobby 680tfm/Range Rover V8 we had a few years ago but we are both chuffed and can`t wait to get on the road with it.

I notice that there is no leisure battery fitted to these `vans, seemed strange at first but I guess it will keep the weight down a bit. Also being a S/H van the spare wheel is not present, dealer said there never was one but I am not so sure, looks to me there was one in situ that has been robbed at some point.Anyway my first post here and I am asking for something already. As there is no spare and I dont like the thought of relying on one of those aerosol puncture fix can things a thought struck me, would the 5 stud spare from the Passat fit the 5 stub hub of the Delft?, can`t wait to check this out. Any way to my question, does anyone know if "adaptaplates" are still available, it is a sort of spacer type affair that allows a car wheel to be used on a caravan hub - only to the next tyre depot of course, I would love to know.

I must admit I've never heared of Delft Caravans before and I couldn't get any joy by Googling it. Perhaps you can give more details.

I first thought that Victor meant Dethleffs, too, Ray, but the 'Platin' model range is a Fendt brand name, not Dethleffs.

Yes,it is indeed a Fendt, I probably posted in the middle of the night during a quiet boring night shift so not concentrating or was half-asleep, apologies to all.
