Can anyone shed some light on customs requirements and costs for bringing our 2 year old UK caravan and personal items back from Spain after brexit (went out pre brexit). Intending to use haulier to bring it back for us. Cheers

If you towed it back then being your personal property there would be no bureaucracy involved. However having it and other possessions brought into the country by a haulier complicated things a bit. It would be best to talk to a shipping agent who would raise the necessary documents and ensure that the transport company had them. They also would advise on costs and companies. Talking to HMRC might be helpful.

Normally bringing your personel effects back to the Uk after 2 years does not incure any import taxes. Especially if you bought them in the UK. On the forms declare that you bought them more than 6 months previously.

But why not tow your van home cheaper than a haulier, unless you are filling the van to over weight and it is in a trailer, then your risking overloading your vans axle.

Drag it up to Santander and get the boat. As the others have said, its just like returning from holiday. Much cheaper than a haulier.

I don't think it's too much of an issue. Just check requirements for entry to Spain. Currently, a completed Health Control Form completed within 48hrs of arrival (generates a QR code without which you will be denied entry) and evidence of vaccination (NHS app QR code).
Check requirements for re entry to UK as they change according to traffic light status.....and hotel quarantine is expensive, horrible (and utterly futile imho) if Spain's status becomes "red."
