Forget about any manufacturers warranty, this caravan is way out of that period.
its 22 years old (which is ancient in caravan terms) and it oʻhas been repaired, by the dealer it was purchased from, at no expense to the purchaser. So the dealer has both acted responsibly, and very reasonably.
My view would be that it has now been professionally sorted out to comply with current legislation, and that work must be guaranteed by the dealership.
I would consider that the dealers have done all they possibly could and that the caravan is now 100% safe to use.
Rather than get involved in all sorts of legal arguments, and associated stress, simply move on, accept that the caravan is now up to standard and get on and enjoy it.
I would suspect that any small claims court would view it as I have done (because all is now correct) and not enforce any replacement and or refund.
If you are still looking at going down the legal route then you simply MUST obtain professional legal advice before doing anything as you could end up with a very large legal bill, and many months of unecessary stress.

I had a Tilley hat bought in 2008 with a Lifetime Guarantee which was exchanged this summer for a new replacement but that doesn’t have a lifetime guarantee. Pity Tilley don’t make caravans.
I was looking at Tilley hats a couple of weeks ago. Very nice, and no doubt top quality, but £75 plus for a hat .
If Tilley made caravans they'd be half a million quid each. ;)

Zero manufacturers warranty maybe (although I do own an item from a manufacturer who gave a 20 year warranty on their products, I believe that they have dropped it to 10 years now). There may still be a warranty from the dealer.

CRA definitely applies as any item sold, regardless of age, must be fit for purpose, of satisfactory quality etc.
It's unlikely that any dealer would give a warranty on a 22-year old caravan

To me this seams like buyers remorse brought an old used caravan, used it for 6 months and now decide careening is not for them.
Caravanning not for them? She spent the whole of the year before touring around the UK in her older van. She's owned various caravans and given the choice would probably live in it all year round so very presumptuous of you.

If a manufacturer refuses a warranty claim, can the consumer take the manufacturer to court with a hope of winning? I think the area where this has happened is with car manufacturers and then it was nothing to do with a warranty claim i.e emissions.

However in this case it is NOTHING to do with the manufacturer so totally irrelevant and as per Hutch's post under CRA 2015 the supplier has remedied the issue. I would also think that taking into account the cost of a 2002 caravan and the chances of winning in a small claims court being about zero, it could be an expensive exercise?
