Reversing camera - now travelling solo

I'm still a newbie with our caravan (c15 months), but have towed trailers for years. However, next year I will be travelling solo as my wife and caravan partner passed away recently.

As I wish to carry on using our caravan, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a wireless reversing camera? (my wife was always my banksman)

Happy for it to be either app driven, or, with it's own screen. I will also have to work out how to power it !!!

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Hi and welcome to the Forum, sorry for your loss, but I wish you well in your endeavour to go solo caravanning. I never had a reversing camera or rear view one but if you search “Reversing camera” without naming a correspondent you will get lots of hits from members who have installed them. Some phones need to be turned to landscape to carry out a search.

I use mine on caravan number plate, but I have someone to help me with the reversing onto pitch. Mainly I use it when towing, lane change etc. As you can see it can be mounted high or low, I find it a god send.

I have mine high up, use it the same as Border billy,
I have a separate screen so I can see what's bidding in my blind spot behind the caravan.

i'm new here and am not sure if there's restrictions on posting links to this forum, so i'll just say we bought an "OBEST Magnetic Solar Wireless Backup Camera" off the big river, used 2 sided gorilla tape to hang its metal mounting plate on the back of our caravan (didn't want to have to drill any holes), snapped it on, and it's been working fantastically. We can't imagine going without it :)

Maybe I cheat, but reversing in to pitches, where any real precision is needed I generally these days use the caravan's mover, so I can stand and or move to where I can see anything that's critical.

Saved any risk of a domestic, bless her, she had a habit to hide out of my view.
