Reversing camera

Thinking of fitting a reversing camera,not w wireless one,was thinking of mounting the camera at top rear of van and running the two cables inside the offside awning rail down to near the towbar then making connections near the 12S and N plugs.Then running the wiring thro to a 7" freestanding monitor using stick on velcro to secure,was intending to have it on permanently when towing as well as reversing.Have seen a few for sale and am keen on a Sharp night view lens,has anybody done this,what kit did you use,what about waterproofing the connections
 
I would not bother, it amounts to another distraction when reversing. Now parking sensors I would agree with.
