Right bottled gas?

I have just purchased a 7kg bottle of butane gas. On the bottle it says. Alta Gas, Flogas. The colour is yellow. Has anyone else used this make? I always thought that butane was in a blue bottle! I am assuming that it is o.k. as the dealer said it was.

Thanks for any feedback.

Dave,It is a Calor gas convention to use blue for Butane. Super Gas use an orange cylinder for Butane and Propane. I have seen green ones for sale at B& Q for 'barbacue / patio heater'.

Calor are the most commonly used gas bottles in the UK.

They do butane in a blue bottle and propane in a red.

I honestly wouldnt bother using any other gas bottle than Calor as it is supplied nationwide at almost all gas suppliers shops.

Also, if you need to change the size of bottle or swap propane for butane, or visa versa, you will need your original refill agreement you will have been given when you bought your bottle.

Without the agreement, you can only change the bottle for the same size, and can't change colour bottle.
