rooflight handles, changing the tap and gas hose

Hi All,

I am getting round to a few jobs that need doing and was hoping for some guidance, first, on our big rooflight one of the handles is broken but I can't find a spare at any of the usual online stores. It has two short black plastic handles.
Secondly the bathroom tap needs repalacing, I think it is a Whale Elite short spout, is this a job I can do myself, and if so do I need any special tools?
Thirdly my van has orange gas hose with jubilee clips, can this be easliy changed to the black hose with screw fittings?

Thanks and happy caravanning.

Hi Joann.
if you can post a picture of the handles it would help a lot to steer you in the right direction.
The tap is easy enough if you have access to the underside of it, The pipes will probably be fixed to the tap with jubilee clips and the tap is held by a large nut if a sinlge lever tap, or two smaller nuts under each tap if the two tap type.

The gas hose, as you describe, is fitted to the cylinder mounted regulator and the main inlet pipe to the van.
The Orange hose is High Pressure hose, the Black hose is Low Pressure hose.
On your system it does not matter which you choose but you are stuck with the same setup as you have, ie clamped at each end with jubilee clips, but make sure they are gas hose quality and smooth on the inner surface.
It is always best to replace them at the same time as the hose.
