Route from Ouistreham to Royan

Internet route planners are giving me a couple of different suggestions for this route. Anyone got any advice?

Michelin give Ouistreham to Le Mans then to Angers and over to the La Roche.

Mapquest suggests to Le Mans then Tours and Poitiers.

From previous visits to the Atlantic coast I'm more familiar with the more easterly route of Ouistreham down past Nantes.

Any thoughts, recommendations welcome.

Hi Rob we did Oustreham to Royan last year and went down Via Le Mans but thought we would try coming back via Nantes and Rennes and it felt a more straight forward route and quicker. We are going to Royan again this year and to be honest think we will do this route boith going and coming home
 
Thanks to Lee and Jim for their input.

I've worked out that going by Nantes and Rennes is no great difference in mileage so I think I'll stick with that route.
