Hello

We will be travelling to Pembroke in South Wales from outside of Shrewsbury. Sat Nav mentions travelling on the A483 and A470 heading for Camarthen. Know the road from Shrewsbury to Welshpool but that's it.

Any advice or comments on using the A483 and A470 or any other road or route. We tow a 6 berth single axile caravan. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Annette.

I would travel from Shrewsbury to Leominster Via the A49, then pick up the A438 to Brecon. From there use the A40 via Llandovery, Carmarthen, St Clairs and on to Pembroke.

Although this may be a bit longer distance wise you will benifit from a better road and plenty of laybys should you need to stop.

Distance wise it is about 160 miles and should be doable in about 4 hours.
