Route to St Jean de Luz

Travelling down to St Jean de Luz in early September. Any advice regarding best route please. Will be getting ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge.

Also any recommendations for sites as close to St Jean as possible which accept Camping Cheques.

Thanks

Graham

The obvious route would be the motorway down to Lille then the A1 to Paris, and the A10 to Tours. It would also be the most expensive. For only an extra 45 miles, I would choose the toll-free A16 to Boulogne and Abbeville, the toll-free A28 to Rouen, then the A and N154 to Chartres and N10 to Tours. From Tours to Poitiers on the A10 at around 10 Euros, then the mostly dual carriageway N10 from Poitiers to Bordeaux. The A10 continues at motorway standard but without the toll down to the junction with the A63.
