Runny Mastic

I'm referring to the stuff Bailey used to mount such things as the outer doors for battery etc. What did they use?! Was bad enough last year when it was new, but this season its not only black but oozes out between door and body work and looks 'orrible! I know I can trim back, but can I use say, a clear bathroom sealant to run a small bead, back in its place?

Terry. I have a Bailey Senator5 2006, and like you find the mastic very scruffy. However, as my 'van is still under warranty for some years (Bodyshell Ingress), would not contemplate touching this in any way. May be better to get a "Bailey approved" service centre to have a look and rectify if needed.

I emphasise "Bailey approved" with some feeling, as I have had dealings with Bailey on repairs to maintain the warranty. If your 'van is still under the 5yr warranty, then do nothing without getting Bailey approval.

Just a friendly warning.

Regards

Dave
