Good afternoon all,

It is with a heavy heart that we have to share the news that Doug King, a great friend and supporter of Practical Caravan, has passed away. Please see here for details.

Thanks to Doug for all his help and enthusiasm. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.

This is very sad news indeed, the touring caravan world has lost a great friend.
We had the pleasure of meeting Doug a couple of times, he was cheery and down to earth, a proper caravanner.
Thoughts and prayers are with Mrs King, family and friends.

.............a very sad loss for his wife, children, grand children and friends.

Nigel Donnelly says "Doug was his caravan dad" and if you saw them together that is how it came across.
I am sure he came across as a caravan dad to most caravanners who met him.
Doug was a guru when it came to caravans and will be sadly missed by myself and other readers of the magazine.

Please pass on our sincere condolences to his family. He will be sorely missed - a great 'fixer-upper' and inspiration to think outside the box. A huge loss to caravanning.

I met Doug in a professional capacity on a number of occasions. His support of the caravan hobby was unstinting. He will be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.
