Wonder if they are withdrawing from car insurance as well? Got my renewal quote last month from them and it had gone up by almost £300. Managed to get insurance with Tesco for the same price I paid with Saga for the previous year.

The insurance arm of Saga have been losing considerable amounts of money and has been a major contributor to the financial black hole in which they find themselves . They have been trying to address this for a while, so I suspect further contraction of their products will follow.

Last Autumn SAGA announced debts of £650 million. Early in 2024 it was reported that they were looking at ways in which their cruise ship operation could be used to raise cash. The market in which SAGA first set up has changed significantly.

My quote for my car insurance renewal with no change in anything went from just over 300 to just under 700! I wasted my breath on a phone call to them and simply used a compare site to get renewal at just over 400 from an established ‘name’ and that was not the cheapest offering’

They withdrew today. We got our new van covered by them, an increase in value by £7k in the van increased the ANNUAL premium was £2.60... We've been with them and found them cheaper than Caravan Guard, when I did a quote with CG annual was about £10 a year more. CAMC were £200 more!

We are with Saga our caravan insurance is due for renewal in August we found them to be quite reasonable, new for old, I suspect we will have to look elsewhere.

Saga last year new for old approximately £270 including legal cover, CMC over £550 for the same cover, Caravan Guard £332, I can't see Saga customer paying CMC prices

Ours is with Saga and although not due for renewal until early next year I rang CAMC and was told they will call me in December to discuss and that they will insure with no increase on my existing policy with Saga.

That’s not going to go down well if existing CMHC customers pay higher premiums. But I guess the Club will take that into account when setting future premiums.
