Lookiking at the 2pecs with a kerb weight of 1893kg and 153 hp, 335nm of torque it should be able to handle the van, only thing that may take a bit of trial and error would be the noseweight which is limited to 80kg.

We have the same model Santa Fe as you and tow a MTPLM 1800kg van. It tows very well despite being a little over the 85% limit. Struggles very slighty on long steep inclines needing to drop from top gear but plenty of torque and effortless cruising.

MPG varies greatly - as low as 21 as high as 30 with I guess 27 being about average.

Hi Kevin,

We took our new Lunar Delta TI twin axle out for the first time this weekend. Ours has been upgraded by Lunar to max load of 1700 kgs. We have four motor movers fitted so needed the weight upgrade. We tow with a Hyundai Santa Fe 5 seater 2.2 CRTD. As mentioned by others you need to drop a gear for long hills, allthough it hold 60 mph on the motorway with ease. Prior to this we towed a single axle Hymer Nova 465 with a max weight of 1600 kgs. It returned a credible 30 mpg towing and local trips back and forth work.It gives 37 mpg at 70 mpg crusing speed on motorways. The only down side is the low nose weight of 88 kgs for my model. We have to travel with only one gas bottle in the front locker and the water heater has to be drained (it is forward of the axle line)The rear of the Hyundai sinks a bit lower the with the Hymer and the van rides slightly nose down. I will look to measure and fit Grayston rubber inserts to the rear coil springs as my model does not have self levelling suspension.

Mike.

Hi Mike,

We get the 37-38 if we take it easy on the motorway and 30 around town. With the van though it's around 26 which I think is ok. Premium diesel seems to up these figures slightly but not enough to recoup the extra cost. Ours is the auto with self levelling suspension so it tows level but is perhaps a bit lower than many 4x4s it's size.

We find it a fantastic long distance cruiser with or without the van. My major gripe is trying to find roof box and bike mounts to fit the wide factory roof-bars. Seems ridiculous to me that thule etc make you fit their own bars rather than have a kit that fits onto the factory fitted units.

Hi I have a Santa fe crtd 20lt gsi and a new ace jubilie viceory 1500kg

the car nose weight is 80kg and the van is about 100kg with the bottles

it traveals very low in the middle, so i'm going to fit mad spring asisters, so i can load the car up and reduce the weight in the locker or travel with the awning in the back of the van.its all a pain!
