we can finally go on holiday yippee,tablets dose is to be doubled and we are waiting on more tests as there may be other problems as well as the hypo-tension the thyroid is not working at all,but all can be treated with tablets.lad has a high chlosteral leval so only a little chease,hoping it will fall,with the tablets,back in sept for more check ups.anyhow looking forward to longleat,winchester, Pembroke,and seeing all the family and friends over the next few weeks. thanks for your support.sarah and family

We're glad to hear that things are going to be ok Sarah. Broad leaved vegetables such a cabbage are good for lowering cholesterol and porridge for breakfast helps. Foods with a high fat content are known to raise cholesterol levels but with care the level can be lowered with the help of statins.

i have high cholesterol , reducing your fat intake will reduce the cholesterol you consume ,but not the cholesterol your own body produces ,80% of cholesterol is produced by your liver and the only way to reduce it is with statins like Lipitor ,so if i consumed zero cholesterol ,i would still have high cholesterol ,it also hereditary ,the actor Richard Beckinsale died with it at the age of 31 ,his daughter was also tested she had high cholesterol as well , the adventurer Bear Gryles also has high cholesterol ,and what a fit man he is ,mine is around 3 now due to the 40 mg of lipitor i take a day
thanks for that advice on cholesterol but it will be checked on again in sept as the tablets need to work for the hypo tension first.
