satellite dish

I am considering buying a kit from the aerial shack who are very helpful. We are going to southern brittany and he advises that we get a 64cm dish rather than 43cm. this is more expensive - is it the right advice. I know nothing about satellite. Thankyou denise

In spite of what the "experts" say I've used a mini dish in northern spain and regularly all over france. It's really down to practice on setting it up. At first it seems impossible but after a while you can do it in minutes.

I will be trying it out in germany in a few weeks time!

You definitely need a compass and a meter.

A 43cm dish will be fine for Brittany.... I have used one in Toulouse with no trouble.

A 64cm dish will extend the area of reception at the fringe of a 43cm dish.

This would roughly equate to Mid to North Scotland and southern France.

I have used my 43cm dish and Sky Box all over England, Scotland and France right down to the Med. No problems. I use a 99p plastic compass and the Sky box tuning. Sky Handset - Services - Scroll down to 4 - then scroll down to 6.

Oh well its been delivered now and does seem a bit big. Maybe its worth keeping for when we do travel further afield. I did want something a bit more discreet though! Denise
