Satellite Suitcase

hi off to normandy 2 weeks time any idea how you set these up using compass provided only interested in keeping up with football results

Hi John

You need to go very slowly when finding the satellite and both angle of inclination and direction have to be spot on although its easier with a smaller dish.

The angle of inclination should be about 25deg in Normandy and you need to start from about SSE and make small movements of the dish.

Make a slow pass at 25deg and if that's no good try either side up or down a fraction

On my 60cm dish the thickness of a pencil line is the difference between on and off the satellite

As Swiss Tony would say

Finding the satellite is very like making love to a beautiful woman.Make slow passes and take your time until you get the knack!

Pointing at the sun at 12noon in Normandy is a starting point--if you can see it

Hi John @ Wolves. - Just a tip to add : when you are looking for a pitch on the camping site, bear in mind that trees can block the signal, so try to avoid them on the South East side. Have a good trip. Keith
