Satellite TV reception on the Continent

I've got a Lidl Satellite TV dish, LNB and Receiver. It works fine in UK but I'd like to know if anyone has taken theirs to the Continent and what sort of reception they received. I'm off to Spain in 4 weeks time - hooray!!

Any advice would be most helpful.

Lutz.....We have been as far down as 40 miles south of Alicanti and up to this year we have not taken a satellite system.

We were advised by our sat dealer to take an 80cm dish to get astra 2 but he says we cannot receive standard uk channels south of Benidorm. (backed up by those on our site who could not get these channels (BBC 1,2, ITV etc.) We are still undesided on whether to but a dish and take our sat box with us this year....any help would be appreciated?

Depends how far south you go in Spain, how big the dish and what channels you want to see.

It's got a 57cm dish, we're going to Alicante area and don't really expect to pick any UK signals but maybe some French and presumably Spanish.
