School Vacation Calendar for 2008?

Are any members of Forum able to type list(s) of the forthcoming UK school holidays for the coming season (2008)? As oldies, with no children of school age, we tend to leave the school holidays for families with children, usually only going away for a couple of weeks during August. Thanks for any help with this topic.

Ann, As stated on my thread, re easter, it appears that different counties are having different dates, our area easter break for schools is 4-21 april.

Try typing school holidays followed by the education area concerned into the likes of Google. School holidays vary from area to area.

This is one of our local schools dates, it can vary between countries and parts of the country (NI have much longer summer break).

They also have a habit of sticking "training" days close to holidays, why they can not do it in their extensive holidays I don't know.

This is a Bristol school but most fo the SW seems to have the same dates

As an aside, staggering holidays around the country would mean that places would not get quite so busy as well as giving parents an opportunity to enjoy cheaper holidays.

Hi Ann

Different councils have different school holidays. Each council will display the school hols on their own website under "education".

Let's not forget Scotland where term-times are very different to the rest of the UK.

I'd double check your dates for easter as it falls on the weekend of 21,22,23,24 march next year. I would'nt want you to miss the opening of the season.

Re the earlier posting about Easter - because it's so early in 2008 some schools are just having the statutory bank holiday off, and then having a couple of weeks in early/mid April for 'end of term' holidays. My son is a teacher in Bethnal Green - and this is how his local authority have arranged things, as has another local authority near us where my friend teaches.
