scilly isles

Does anyone know if there any sites in Scilly which will take a small motorhome? I've tried Googling, but there appears to be only four sites, all of which only take tents. Herself insists that she has seen one for motorhomes, but cannot remember where! can anyone help to restore matrimonial harmony?

Emmo I doubt if they take motor homes, traffic is limited. Theres only 9 miles of road on St.Marys and they are single track in places. If it was possible to take it the cost I think would be enormous. They can only take one vehicle per sailing on Scillonian 3.

Having watched the series on BBC 2, a motorboat would seem more appropate, the vicar seemed to spend most of his time on the water between the islands.

Royston

LB,that's pretty much what I thought. Herself went to the Scillys as a young child, and fancied going back. I knew they didn't take caravans, but thought she'd read that MHs were acceptable. A friend has offered us the loan of his Citroen Romahome, so we thought we'd give it a go. Ah well, it was a nice dream!

I've been to the Scillies three times and love the place, my ideal way of life but not for the missus :O(

I've also watched that series and the last one Royston, I loved it. BTW a friend of mine is a friend of the policewomans parents. Although it didn't mention it on the programme it looks like her and her boyfriend are getting engaged according to her father.

What I couldn't understand was the baker who bought the pub had the help of his ex wife who sold up in Essex to finance it and then moves to be with him in Scilly. Next thing theres no ex wife and he has a girlfriend who lives in Mousehole.

Emmo, if you decide to go can you pop across to the pub on Bryher and ask him what happened to his ex :O)

Thanks mate, I knew you would do me a favour.

Scillonian lll and Gry Maritha a supply boat operate to Scilly Isles. 4-5 Vehicles can be taken - 4 ton is max weight per vehicle. Usually only 2 or 3 vehicles are loaded. Price is approx
