Hi all,

We are heading to Scotland for a wedding on Friday 11th Dec near Dundee and are proposing a little tour of Scotland. We will have 6 days prior to the wedding and day after to see a few things. We can approach via either the West or East side and would like to take in some classic Scottish scenery i.e. Lochs, hills, mountains etc. At the same time being able to get to a campsite which is open and with hook up, again it would great if the campsite is in a scenic area.

Any suggestions on possible routes, stop off points or just suggest one place and we'll put it all together from there.

Hi Andrew,

Silverbank CC site at Banchory is open until beginning of January and is ideally placed. It is on Royal Deeside with some beautiful secenery all within easy reach especially as the days will be a lot shorter then. The site is all large hard standing pitches, is on the outskirts of the town. It is also well placed for the wedding, Dundee is an easy 2 hour journey from the site. Hope this may help.

The CC site in Edinburgh is open all year and is just over 1 hour by motorway to Dundee. You can then visit the Trossachs and Loch Lomond, Pethshire or the East Neuk of Fife if you so wish, plus have the sights and sounds of Edinburgh if the weather is horrible.

No disrespect to Dundee as I did live there for a while, but as a tourist destination...it sucks.
