On a hot day, they'll keep the sun off the dashboard, and stop your van from turning into an oven, and they also help to prevent overnight condensation. You'll need one that's suitable for your make of motorhome, so try a Google search. Enjoy the new van!

Donna has got it exactly, the windscreen and side cab windows give a great view out but unless you are lucky enough to park in the shade you will soon wish you were back in the (chilly) UK. In the winter insulating screens will keep the cab area a lot warmer and help to reduce your gas consumption.
The type of screen will depend upon your POV, Internals can be set up and removed from inside the van and are great at home or in the street because they are safe from the weather and hooligans. Externals do not suffer from condensation inside the van but at a considerable extra cost.

Over the years we have used both and have been satisfied with both.

Another supplier is Fiamma. I have one of theirs on Ducato screen and am very happy with it.

It is noticeably warmer when sitting in the cab swivel seats on winter evenings, likewise cooler during summer evenings.
Windscreen condensation is much reduced in the mornings.

Only one drawback is that it has no central removable panel for daytime but during a very hot Spanish summer day, it is best left in place.

External screens provide good insulation and minimum condensation. They are pain to put on when it is cold and wet outside - often dark as well. When removed, they may need storing to dry.

Internal screens are much easier to fit providing they do not foul any interior blinds. They are less effective at insulating and do not reduce condensation.

Most people fit external screens if they are to be used in the winter.

Taylormade, not sure about Silverscreens make a slightly longer screen cover that goes over the engine compartment grill which I find quite useful.

Both Silverscreens and Taylormade can be bought second hand off of E-Bay at a greatly reduced price, usually because folk have changed their Van, and need a differant type, as they wear very slowly, spending most of their lives in the bag. But Exterior are definately the best, for getting rid of condensation. Both makes do a 'fold down' front panel model. The Silver Screens one is called a 'paragon'. have had both makes, and recommend both.

Only used a Silver Screen on our Auto Trail Tracker. We use the van all year round and the SS has been our best accessory purchase. We feel that it in effect gives us more usable interior space as the cab area is not too cold in the colder months of the year plus no wiping windscreen every morning to get rid of the dreaded condensation.
