Screwing in caravan !!

I need to screw two plates to the side of my caravan so that I can fix an aerial pole to them. Never screwed into external side of caravan before, obviously self tapping, how long screws ? Anyone got any more advice please.
 
Vision plus do a stick on bracket which the aerial mast clamps to. Sold at vitually all caravan accessory shops, maybe worth a look rather than screwing holes into the side of the van.
 
One van I owned had had an aerial pole attatched to the side of the van. The drilled holes had not had sealant applied before putting the screws in, so damp got in. The cost to repair was
 
They have but only in strong signal areas

The new directional Status is much better

If the aerial backs onto a cupboard I would use long thin bolts with nuts/washers on the inside .

Bed it on sealant of course
