I've just heard that some Scumbag ( Teeside area I think)has stolen an Ambulance on and Emergency call and wrote it off it seems.

What can you say?

I say it's disgusting but a sad sign of the times. We had a fire officer on call at a serious incident and someone broke into his marked car and stole loads of equipment.

Sadly we have the kind of society we deserve. If said scumbag is caught what will happen to him? If it's his 1st he'll not even bother the courts. If it's his 30th he might get an ASBO which if he breaks a few times he will be given another, even tougher ASBO. The solicitors and lawers will make hay.

What he can be sure about is that he won't go to prison - you have to do something really serious for that (like beat up a scumbag or fiddle your VAT)

We, the general public, will grumble a bit then meekly accept whatever happens.

As I said, we have got what we deserve.

Apparently this is not a first in the area in recent times, another was stolen last year for the drugs on board!

I just hope the Emergency services could black list the guilty parties when they dial 999.

Forget hanging, tie them between an Ambulance and Fire engine and let them gamble that a 999 call doesn't come in ;-)

Yes we can forget hanging forever - dead criminals will never earn money for the great British justice system.

I had an idea tho'. What about scrapping all maximum sentences (never could get my head round telling a crook what the worst he was going to get anyway) and making judges seek re election every year. That way if we, the public, don't like the deals they dish out to said criminals we can sack them!

Would probably work so no chance of it happening. :-(

Judges should be made to retire at 65 like everyone else not stay into their decrepid senile years. Even that Lady Butler-Schloss as been brought out of retirement to deal with the Lady Diana enquiry. Dare I say it, even the House of Lords should be scrapped, we are supposed to live in a democracy, who voted to put them in office and to pass laws?

In my time on the Ambulance Service I only knew of an ambulance being stolen once and that was from outside the Casualty Dept. The crew had taken a R.T.A. victim in and came back out to find it gone. After that we had to lock the vehicles once the patient was out before proceeding to the ward.

My Lord you must have been sleeping through your time in the house. "Dare I say it, even the House of Lords should be scrapped, we are supposed to live in a democracy, who voted to put them in office and to pass laws?" They don't pass Laws they only act as a Check and Balance on the laws passed by parliment.

Who pays for them and how come any laws passed by the government have to be passed by the Upper House? How come the government have failed to get laws passed because of the Upper House? It's not a trick question, it's fact that they do refuse laws to be passed. Who put the mockers on the recent detention laws?
