St Ives is a one trick pony . Been there , seen it, done it!
The “quaint” shops and fast food outlets are there for one reason , sell you the cheapest product for maximum price.
As kids parents took us to Gwithian Sands, a much better part of the bay.
The real highlight is watching the Gulls pinch pasties off the unsuspecting 😉😁.

On Cornish pasties the only ones worth having are the fresh , made on the premises ones from
Brian Etherington Farm Shop, Scorrier near Redruth,
Anne’s Pasty shop ,The Lizard,
St Agnes bakery and pasty shop.
All contain stacks of meat and fillings , unlike another unmentionable make.

But as BB says , everyone to their own

Pasties, pasties, pasties……….You do all know where they originated……….Don't you?
Parents lived in N Devon for decades. SiL parents born and bred Plymouth , ex Navy. All say pasties were invented in Plymouth in the early 1500s but contained venison. I think the ship rats had a feast! Maybe Cornwall was earlier🤔😎
