Hi all.

does anyone know of any websites that may be useful to me as I would like to site my Tourer in Spain if possible. Or if anyone out there has already done it and can give me some tips! Looks like this maybe the only way to get away in the Caravan and get some Sun on my Back..

Stephen,

I don't have a definative answer for you but late in 2007 found us at Camping Salata in Roses on the Costa Brava.

Its a very nice site that is used by all nationalities both as a base for a holiday but also as a stopping off point up and down the Costas'. But I degress.

It would have been at the beginning of November and as the week went on I noticed that various caravans were being 'uprooted' if thats the right word from their pitches. It was evident that these caravans had been there for the season by the amount of 'gear' surrounding them, the age of the caravan and the haphazard way in which the 'vans were being packed. The owners discarded anything that didn't fit through the door and this property seemed to be pounced upon by everyone at the rubbish disposal area. (I'm talking about chairs, windbreaks, bodyboards etc).

By the end of the week, the campsite was a lot emptier and only occupied by foreign nationals and not 'locals'.

So it would be right that you can get a seasonal pitch in Spain but you will have to make your own enquiries at a particular campsite as I doubt that there is a book that would guide you.

Happy searching

Thanks Del.

Ideally I would like a site where I can leave the Van all year round be it perminantly on a pitch or on a pitch for the season then into a storage area for the winter rather than having to bring back home.

hi.stephen.

earlier this year we stayed on les medes in l`estartit costa brava.which is open 11months each year .closes november. we store our van some 20kms from there, and use it as a holiday home.go whenever time allows, storage is covered for insurance and is still cheaper than at home.a long term stay (30 days )costs around 300 euros for 2+ van and electrics,Personally i think more brits should go abroad and see the value for money obtained in comparison to a field, basic facilities, and nothing else for the princely sum of 20 quid per night sometimes we have paid in u.k .on medes you have a bar restaraunt heated indoor pool heated toilet block, free showers fully serviced pitches tennis courts and childrens play area outdoor pools in season, there are some cheaper still ,but not open as long.not here to sell any particular site but can only say what we have seen
