Secondhand Prices up or down

I was wondering with the current credit crunch the dollar and the euro loom ever closer to 1 for 1 exchange rate with the £ so this would surely lead to a preference to holiday in the UK. This must surely be a good thing for caravaning. So strange to see manufacturers struggling. The knock on effect would be, I guess, people looking at second hand caravans. I was thinking of changing our van this year but wondered what others have experienced recently when trading in.

Hi Ian

Used prices on good stock will remain firm, new stock? well if your after a new old 08 model then check out for discounts to get rid of this stock. Depends how strong some companies are but new sales from factory gates are esential. With lower production this will affect used recent models later onthe used forcourt. depending on state of market the used prices could firm up a fair bit. Big 08 stocks are just about out into the system. One thing is there wont be many 09's around by late this year.

I have just bought a new Ranger GT60 and trade in price for my old Bailey was very fair. Depending on make/model of course and dealers used stock - this will affect trade - in prices but do shop around and the NEC show is the ideal time.

Andrew
