security lock for caravan

I add this thread only to help others like my wife who wanted extra security when we are sleeping in the 'van. A company in Bristol area called Garalok "www.garalok.co.uk " manufacture a sliding deadlock for caravan doors which I was able to fit easily to my Swift Challenger. With it fitted, we could sleep with absolute certainty that any intruders wern't going to get in via the door!........ of course, windows are a different matter?
Total cost for this high security lock was less than £40

Milenco sell a window alarm, I can't remember the price offhand but do know you can buy these types of alarms cheaper from other sources. I got mine from either Aldi or Lidl when they were on special offer, think it was either £1.00 each or £1.00 for a pair including batteries.

Definitely not recommended because if you deliberately keep a knife by the bed for security purposes you are breaking the law by being in possession of an offensive weapon.
In the unlikely event that an intruder from the Caravan Club badlands gained entry during the night if you used the knife which you kept by the bed for security purposes this would suggest intent rather than an accident which happened during a struggle.

I have a photo of the wife on the caravan door with "I live here" on it. That seems to work!
