Selling Equipment & accessories

Hi,

I see that this website has a facility for advertising caravans and motorhomes, but I can't see anywhere I could advertise some caravan related spare items that are gathering dust in my garage. Anybody got some good suggestions as to how or where I can advertise them (other than ebay, which doesn't really grab me for reasons that I find hard to articulate).

Hi Mike

Unfortunately there is no facility for selling used caravan equipment on this website (not for want of me asking!!)but you can advertise accessories free in Practical Caravan magazine.

Most other forums have a 'for sale' section for the purposes that you require.

I guess the prospects of this site having an upgrade are disappearing over the horizon. Oh well I'll try one of the others and look again at the complexities of ebay and paypal.

Haymarket Publications were working on a forum upgrade when the credit crunch started and to cut costs the planned upgrade was shelved. The rest of the website which hosts this forum is fairly modern and a reasonably competent tekkie could easily incorporate a buy and sell section on to the website.

I get the impression that this won't happen because the 'going spare' free classified adverts are done via a coupon which is in the magazine and to allow classified adverts to be done via the website could affect sales figures for the magazine.

It would be like turkeys voting for Christmas.

I've asked a few times Stephen and the last time that I asked the administrator said that she would see what she could do but they were waiting to see how the Caravan Finder facility went.

If you have unwanted caravanning items for sale there's a coupon in the magazine for a free classified magazine advert.
