I have a series 6 Indiana and the DVD player is no longer working. I have probably played 2 DVD's since new 2008 so its not been overworked. Initiallt it said disc fault but now it won't even display the DVD picture on the screen. I have been told by my dealer that the unit has only a 12 month warranty. I guess it's a bit of cheap Chinese crap that Bailey have sourced. Is it worth having it repaired? If so does anyone know who could repair it, or should I simply buy a cheap mains DVD player and forget about the DVD side of this unit?

We have never been happy with the one in ours either you summed it up with it being cheap chinese crap.We take a HDD/DVD player and a 19" TV,the bailey TV was the same,I understand its an Avtex now but might be mistaken.

Hi Top Cat
If you've only played two DVD's in two years is it worth fixing?

You could try a DVD cleaning disc, it could be a dirty laser.

Have you tried a different DVD?

Thanks Mike, Yes I have tried different DVD's and confirmed at home that they are ok. I will try a cleaner disc but don't hold out much hope. DVD use is set to increase as I have just tried continental touring and the TV stations aren't as easy to understand. Might bypass DVD and go straight to sattellite!

Hi,
Ours packed up playing CD's as well - just junk as you say.

I bought a better unit from halfords - took minutes to fit.

Regards

Andy

Our Series 6 Senator DVD player is also not overused but has just started freezing after about 1 hours playing time, and then to get the controls back you have to turn it off. Is this fixable, or now due for replacement?
