Took the van out easter weekend, everything fine, had a good weekend.

Packed it all away for towing home on the monday and arrived safely at the storage place.

Put the van in it's spot, got out of the car to unhitch and OMG!!!

I'd driven it back with the handle on the alko hitch up and left the leg windy uppy brace on the rear bumper of the car.

Luckily for me it was only 4 miles but country roads and very bumpy and the brace was still there.

Could of been so much worse.

I have myself left the hitch handle on the Alko stabilizer "off" and on one occassion the jockey wheel down (only for a mile or so before thinking about whether I had raised it). Regarding the legs I use a battery drill so that is always put away in the boot of the car before hitching.

I will agree it does make you feel dull though. Incidentally I am a "few" years older than you so could be excused a senior moment. LOL

I left a site near Bude,on first trip out with new tow car (CRV) and thought that the car wasn't pulling all that well. After a couple of miles a car over took us sounding his hooter. I though what a noisy s*d. About 25 miles further on I stopped for the obligatory pee and noticed when walking back the car that the mover was still engaged on the tyres! Both rollers were worn down the metal core, but there was only a small groove in one tyre in the centre of the tread. Oh dear, those senior moments!!

We had been at one site for a week and it came the morning to pack up and go. The people on the next pitch hadn't spoken to us all week except one nod when I said good morning but thought , as usual, this is a great time to strike up a conversation.(I expect you've all been there).

The usual "you're off then" when I feel like saying "no I'm practicing to see how fast I can set up".

"Have you far to go"?

A hour later off we go. On arrival at home I went to undo the brake cable ... oops :O(

It's the same when we're setting up to leave home, out come the neighbours and it's yakkity yak.
