Hi Everybody :)
Just got on to new site, couldn't get on with my IE11. Anyway, we have a serious problem with our car..

FORD - MONDEO - 2.0 - TITANIUM - 2013. with the new lights

FORD have told us we must get our lights altered at dealer before we depart (in the dark) at night for holiday, thereby we would be driving illegally, and would have difficulty driving down our road (lanes really) with light fixed in the opposite direction blinding all on coming traffic......

But we are capable of ding lights our selves. We have the new lights on car and have been told by PC and ford that deflectors cannot not be used...

This is the problem Ford told us that we need to take out the whole light fitment and there is a switch on the back to change lights over...

that will be a big fat NO... absolutely nothing so does anyone have the new mondeo and xeon lights and how have you done it ..

thanks

Not clear of all my facts but having gone through similar with LandRover concerning my Freelander (with halogen not Xenons, so could fit deflectors) I was told that all 'new' cars late 2013 onwards now have symmetrical dipping beams rather than the previous asymmetric and so no adjustment is required.

Testing against my white garage doors at night this was certainly true for the Freelander built late 2013, so no more problems.

it may be worth a quick check to see if your car has the same setting which noone knows about.

If you park a couple of lengths in front of a light coloured wall or door you will see whether when dipped the beam angles to the left. The new one does not and has a sort of flat pincushion pattern with slightly raised top corners.

We are not sure of build date. Because we should have had our car last Feb so it would have been a 62 plate.

But we were told hold was the strike, but the dealer said that had been told the car was locked it and not being released because of strike... we got our car eventually may 13...

Is there a way of knowing when the car was actually built....

BTW I have the email for the CEO of Ford and are they going to get an email about the stupid design and the advice ford give on changing lights to drive ilegally.......

I have fould out the lights we have xenon automatic levelling light although not adaptive lights they do come on when turning corners.
