Introducing the rather quickly named “Peggy Sue”

All great and towed the 100 miles home beautifully.
Couple of quick questions however (with accompanying photos)

The jacking points: I have got the KoJack twin axle kit to fit myself but I’m guessing I’ll be taking it back as the AWD mover is fitted directly below the jacking point. (Or is there a workaround?)

And secondly, when we’re rotating the van using the mover using the remote operation as instructed during the handover, we got this worrying bulging as the wheels drag. Anyone else experienced this?

Anyway, I’m sure there’ll be other questions but for now I’m enjoying that new van smell 👍👍👍 she’s a beaut!!!

The tyres do scrub a lot if you do a tight turn- I try to take a bigger radius as, like you, I don't like it-can't do the sidewalls much good and if you have a bit of space and forethought you can help to avoid it! Not sure re jacking sorry.

The amount of strain a 4wd mover appears to put onto the suspension and running gear was the reason we went for 2WD on our TA Swift. It's only used for 'fine tuning' and levelling up once the van has been reversed to where I want it and for nosing it into its parking place at storage.

I don’t mind it too much and we need to do a full 180 on the drive so it’s useful. I’m more annoyed that I can’t fit the kojack brackets.

does anyone use a trolley jack instead and if so, where do you use as the jacking point as I know the chassis isn’t allowed!

I use a bottle jack, sometimes the trolley jack , i lift from either the axle or on the chassis which has the strengthening section in the center section.

Hi there. Can you (if possible), send a picture of where you mean. I’ve heard of people buckling the chassis by getting wrong place.

can’t actually believe that with AWD movers fitted the jacking points become redundant.

I collecting the van friday to get ready for a week away , i can send a picture then .

On my swift the centre section off the chassis is well strengthend and can take the weight with no issues at all, yes you are correct you must be very careful where to jack from.

Fantastic, so trolley jack or bottle jack under there?

Yip , no problems at all, i use that point when i fit my alko wheel locks on both axles.👍

Which one do you use?

I’m guessing a trolley jack might be better and it’s not like it’s being lifted a long way really?

I use the alko secure axle wheel locks and i have a 5t bottle jack that i carry ,the bottle jack actually fits i n beside my wheel lock in the factory supplied alko bag.👍

That sounds perfect. I’m returning the Kojack unopened and then will get myself a bottle jack at a fraction of the price.
Looking forward to getting it fully secure with both locks on tomorrow.

It works for me perfect, i reverse on to the pitch and the first job is jack up and fit both locks , only takes me about 5 or 6 mins so not really any hassle at all.

Position your trolley jack where the axles attach to the chassis. I can usually get to the front axle ok (without the mover) but the rear is impossible as the movers are in the way. You may not be able to as you have movers fore and aft. Possibly slide a bottle jack between the wheels??

I’m going to go with a 2 tonne bottle jack from screwfix / Halfords and find a way through to the points indicated on the picture above.
