Shipping a caravan to New Zealand

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm keen to take my Bailey Senator Wyoming back to NZ when I return later this year. Can anyone suggest a good, experienced shipping firm? I think a container is the best option. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for the best way to load and secure it.
Thanks

Not sure about the best way to secure in a container, but we used to get Mercedes cars shipped to the docks in containers and they were positioned on custom made ramps(3 in a 40ft.container).
All depends how careful the gantry crane operater is and how choppy the sea is lol.

You would need to use a freight forwarder such as this one............
http://www.evl.co.uk/about_us.php
They would use a container and you would probably have to deliver the caravan to a container packing yard.
There it would be secured inside the container probably using a specially built timber frame and large compressed air filled packing pillows to protect the caravan and stop movement.
Document the condition of the caravan using digital photography on hand over.
Make sure you are seated before asking for the price of packing and shipment.......

I was quoted over £1000 to put a small motorhome in a container from Japan to England, customs and import charges were not included

Try www.searates.com for a quote.
A 20ft container won't be large enough for a Bailey Senator Wyoming so you'd need a 40ft one. Expect shipping costs somewhere in the region of £2500 for a complete 40ft container. However, it would be a shame to pay so much and have the container almost half empty if there's only the caravan inside. Best find something else to ship as well to make better use of the container.

Adria caravans are distributed officially in Australia and New Zealand by RV Asia Pacific of Southport, Queensland, so there is little need for anyone to go to the trouble of arranging shipping privately.
Likewise, Barrons of Taupo are Bailey distributors for New Zealand. Perhaps you can include your caravan in one of their shipments.

Whilst googling for 2nd hand prices I came across www.caravanpriceguide.com who talk about shipping vans to NZ for clients. Maybe worth contacting them in addition to other suggestions.

My friend who lives near Christchurch shipped their Avondale Pennie 5 Berth to NZ a while ago and he would know all the ins and outs. I could ask him on your behalf or put him in contact with you.

I looked into shipping a caravan from Aus to NZ but never got around to making it happen. This article might help out for those interested in shipping a caravan/motorhome overseas - http://www.willship.com.au/prepare-shipping-caravan-abroad/
