Anyone else notice the few errors that stood out in the Feb issue of PC?

Bits missing from the forum snippet on page 22

more text missing from the news section on page 11 - the bit about Exeter caravans paying for the B+E test (shame cos I would really like to know more about this!!)

And what is going on on page 115 - can someone check the table of specifications shown - letters missing and I'm sure that there was more than 85kg payload on the 1991/92 model!!

Was this proof read on the day of the Christmas Party by any chance???

Otherwise it's still the great mag it's always been

Hi Andrew,

Following a change of software, we did have a few teething problems with the way text flowed around images in the February issue, and this caused some text to disappear. I'm sorry for any confusion this caused, and I am happy to clarify your points here:

1. The final entry on the forum excerpt 'Roger, over and out' (p22) should have read as follows:

"We have Motorolas. They have NiCad batteries and a charging unit. Their quality and range is excellent. We find them useful when manoeuvring the caravan. I have one set and hubby puts the other in the car so he can hear me clearly. Mrs Hitchlock"

2. Half of the web address was missing from the news story 'Dealership to foot bill for lessons in tourer tugging' (p11). That address is: www.exetercaravancentre.co.uk.

3. Our monthly Bargain Hunts are written for us by used caravan expert, Andrew Jenkinson. Payload figures for some older vans can sometimes seem unusually low compared to today's figures, but as far as we are concerned, the figures Andrew supplies to us are correct. I couldn't see any missing letters in the specification table on p115 - although I should point out that to save space we always abbreviate the word 'weight' to 'wgt' at the top of each column.

I hope this is useful to you,

Best wishes

Its good to see the mag take the effort to reply to the above post. Many organizations would have just ignored it. Well done.

Now, punishment! What do the readers of the mag think is a suitable punishment for the staff of the mag?

Me, I think a supplied marquee for the easter meet is a good one, complete with a member of staff to get involved in the whole rally, not just turn up. Maybe even use the rally to test a new van or tow car.

Come on PC, get involved and prove to me and others that a subscription may be a good idea after all!

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that Steve. It would be a nice gesture by PC but I can't see it happening somehow!

Hi Steve, Lisa received an e mail from the editor a couple of weeks ago stating that they wouldn't be able to send anyone to cover the meet as everyone goes away at easter.

They're probably going off to some nice hotel or have booked the weekend away at the costa del package.

After all if they do send someone it will mean spending some time in a CARAVAN.

Big Roy

Whilst I unfortunatly will not be able to attend due to work commitments, I am sure there are those amongst us who would be interested in a report on the gathering, possibly with some pictures. Will PC Mag not print an article if presented with one? Perhaps CliveV could write it.

While I'm not worried about PC turning up and collating evidence to pass on to their lawyers, I agree that the event should be written down and put on display. Perhaps Lisa and Roy could put pen to paper, after all these are the peeps organising the show. I would also like to see each caravan include a paragraph or two for a balanced viewpoint. Clive could use his considerable talents to describe the "lets get drunk fast" evening also known as the wine taste, while Steve can repeat the laughs that are bound to occur on the off road course. With any luck we should be encouraged enough to organise another later in the year.

Hi Lol and everyone else

I think that's a great idea. I'm sure Roy and I could document the event and take a few paragraphs from everyone.

I agree we should take some photos (although I don't have my photo taken, you'll see why when you meet me!).

*Can we have a volunteer with a decent digital camera please who will be responsible for photo shoots?

*Roy, are you ok act as journalist with me? (I have a dictaphone somewhere, I'll bring it along).

*We need to organise something for the children, any ideas? Could participants post the ages of their children on here and state whether boy or girl. I have a friend who is a teacher and comes up with all sorts of ideas, I'll ask her.

*We need to get some prizes for the children too.

*Which night are we having the wine tasting*

*Are we having a bbq on another night/s?

Are there any other things we need to think of?

*Who is bringing along gazebo's (Clive suggested some of us bring them so we can use them as a meeting place etc?

I've copied this over to events.

Lisa
