Should I be upset!

There is a John Clough Genealogical society in America. Which is my namesake. I was told that John Clough went over on the Mayflower. I discovered that in fact he went over about 25 years later.

While investigating, I found a 3rd party website that showed the tree, but I struggled to understand how to follow the tree, turns out it had been suspended due to a possible fault, So I looked at a different tree in order to understand how it operated. I chose Elon Musk.

I discovered that his grandmother, Cora, was brought up in the same area as I was.

What went wrong.

Which way John, with your or his line? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
😊

I have no proven connection with my namesake. But I am not an Elon Musk fan. To think he was partly developed in the same area I know so well and have an affinity too. Makes me feel odd, for absolutely no logical reason.

In that photo (pre-plastic surgery) Musk bears a passing resemblance to Matt Hancock...

Anyway, you've set me off down a rabbit hole there checking out Cora Robinson's ancestry and her Lancashire connections through her father. Happy to say, I can't find any common ground with my tree. But it's always interesting seeing what tree links and DNA links have turned up recently on my Ancestry record, so that's another couple of absorbing hours I've just spent!
