aye, the sp2 was mine, fancied a shot of something different from the big inline 4s, wouldnt have went for italian, canny beat the japs for build quality an reliability. kept the sp2 for a year, loved it, but i missed the top end scream of the fours, so i traded it in for my present fireblade. great bike though, and not as common as the R1s, gxrs, blades etc. drew atention wherever i went, and the noise was superb, had arrow cans on it :)

Having just returned to bikeing after several years i can understand your dilema. I have a 30 min. comute home across dartmoor, the best therapy you can have at the end of the day!
exactly,bike therapy rules :)

especially up here where i stay, we have all the good scratching or touring routes on our doorstep.

That would be a Hayabusa Highlander.

Plus Ohlins suspension, Yoshimura carbon exhaust, ceramic clutch and quick shifter and some fancy braking bits.

He's also been banned from fitting a turbo kit that is in his workshop!

Just when SWMBO liked the idea , she wanted to know where she could sit?

Don't these Superbikes have pillion passengers any more? How things have changed since my Suzy.

Cheers

Nice bike, i had an Sp1 Y reg for 2 years, stunning bike just couldnt live with the fuel consumption 100 miles to a tank was pretty low, funny i sold privatley and purchased a Mille Italian flair with jap build quality, both cracking bikes.

Sports bikes not good for commuting kills your wrists so at present have a fazer, very good allrounder just twist and go very comfortable boy i sound so old!!!

Do miss the V twins not so much up and down the gears very flexible engines, when following one the engine braking is immense need to keep your wits about you.

Sounds like the bike will be staying?

dusty, aye of course they have pillion access, but they are small to keep the bikes looking sharp. bit of a sham really, they put on a rear seat the size of a brillo pad and add pillion footpegs, legally thats the job done.

my wee misssus went right up through the highlands on the back of my sp2 ( thats the one in the pic of the boat crossing, its the one on the left) and i dont know to this day how she managed to do it. of course when we were planning the trip i was telling her everything would be fine and she would be comfy :)

mikey, when we went the trip ive mentioned to the highlands, my brother in law and wifes sister came with us. thats his 1999 blade in the pic. anyway, we stopped off at strauchaur for a wee coffee and smoke and he told me when he was following me he thoght something was wrong wi his visor, it kept making a noise and felt it moving. turned out it was the back blast from the exhausts that were thumping out disturbing the air, thats the beauty of v twins.

Don't listen to them. Get rid of it man. Come on what are ye made of. There is someone out there waiting to fulfill their dream of owning your old bike and you are denying them their dream. At this time of year let me appeal to the good old Scottie heart in you and sell, sell sell.!!!!!!!

Highlander,

Glad that you have seen sense and decided to keep the bike. I was in a similar situation earlier last year, I decided to sell my VTR1000 having owned it from new and only covering 3000 miles from new, I felt it was not used enough. I regretted it immediately and felt like a sensitive part of my anatomy had been removed (without anaesthetic) I lasted 3 months before I replaced the Honda with one of the last Daytona 955i models, which is gorgeous, and sounds like a spitfire! Once it is in your system it is very hard to shake it off, no matter how little you use the bike.
