Shurflo pump winter use

Hi folks,

Having an inboard pump is a new experience for us and this winter will be the first time we have had use of the pump and on board water tank.

My question is:-

The manual states the pump has to be totally drained during winter and this involves disconnecting both inlet and outlet pipework. We use our caravan throughout the year and we are concerned that repeated disconnection will eventually ruin the water tight joints. Does anybody else follow these steps each time they get to the end of a winter break?

I just use a low wattage tubular greenhouse heater wth a frost stat.

This is OK if you store with a hook-up.

Unfortunately we have no hook up at our storage.
