I've just bought my 1st van, it's a 1990 swift challenger. My question is, and its probably a stupid one, when i plug the hookup cable into the van is there any setting that it needs to be on, i know that it needs to be turned on on the main pannel inside the wardrobe but is it a case of just plug it in and it works?

Many thanks

For safety reasons follow this procedure:

1. connect cable to van first
2. connect cable to EHU bollard (and switch on at bollard if at CC site by rotating connector)
3. switch on panel switch in van
4. switch on required appliances

When disconnecting - switch off at bollard (if necessary) first and disconnect the bollard end of the cable BEFORE disconnecting from van.

Cheers for the reply woodlandcamper, when you say switch on at panel do you mean the one that is the main board (where the trip switches are) or on my van the one with a pic of a car at the top, off in the middle, or a pic of a caravan at the bottom? Cheers

Inside the van there will be a 12 volt dc system AND a 230 volt ac system. The switch with pictures of car and van is to switch the source of the 12 v from car (when towing) to the internal when pitched (from the power supply unit).

Inside the van the mains 230 v ac system will be protected by a master trip switch (which will need to be on) plus a separate trip for each circuit, which of course need to be on.

Hi Craggy welcome to the forum. There are no silly questions just unanswered ones. I had to ask how to put a battery in the clock.
