Hello David,

It might help us if you could give us a bit more detail such as make model and year of caravan?

Are you sure it is the fresh water that is leaking and not the waste pipe. Waste pipes coming off are a common problem.

I’m lucky to have a narrow cupboard next to the fridge which has the sink over the top so could just about reach my hand above the fridge to re fit the waste when that started to leak. So the advice you need will depend on how your sink is located in your van.

Some vans have the sink over the fridge, which is a ‘mare.

It is not the waste, i did not use the sink. when i disconnected my hose from the water tank, it stopped, as soon as i connected the water back up [ without turning the tap on ] the water started again, so, i assume it is one or both of the hoses from the tank to the taps, we had an infestation of mice because the van was not used for months and i think they may have chewed through the hoses, if i can get the sink out, i can repair it.
How do i get the sink out, there seems to be 4 fitting of some sort at each corner, but i cannot access the sink from below, so, hiow do i get the sink out to have a look.

Normally if there is a fridge under the counter, it needs to be removed to access the pipes. Removing the sink may not achieve anything as you have no idea where the leak is located. We are lucky that we have drawers under our sink so can remove them to access both water pipes and waste water pipe.

Hello again David,

There are many different makes and models of caravan, and sinks. You need someone with the relevant information about your caravan, but to do that, you need to tell us which caravan you have, and to help avoid any misunderstanding, a photo of sink and what it's mounted on can certainly help.

Without that basic information we are working blind and guessing. You'll get all sorts of answers, many of which may have no relevance to way your sink is fitted.

Hi David
As requested by the Prof and John C we need to know your make model year and photos. My Bailey for example has three covered screws, But the waste must be removed first. In my case it means removing the fridge first. So instead I reached the tap and pipework via the fridge vents,

Some sinks are just sealed onto the worktop with no mechanical fixings - my 2013 Lunar is like that.

In our Bailey it is 4 screws hidden under rounded black plastic domes.
Pry the dome off, unscrew the screw, but not all the way as there are tabs that spin round to act as a clamp to the worktop.
Just replaced the kitchen tap with a much nicer quality non leaking one that we can actually get the kettle under :D
