It depends how far from Le Mans a site we have used many times is the municipal at Beaumont sur Sarthe it is excellent stopover and very clean and is on the side of the river on the edge of the village.

Apart from everything else it is very cheap and just off the autoroute.

Paul, There is a very good municipal site at Falaise. it is overlooked by William the Conquerors castle. Falaise is a nice town and well worth an evening stroll. Ray

Hi

Catching Cherbourg ferry at about 17.00 hrs but somewhere between Le Mans and Caen is usually where we stop. We have stayed at the Beaumont sur Sarthe one that Tony recommends but just wanted somewhere different for a change.

Thanks Roy, I've read somewhere that this site has an access problem - is this true?

www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com

Just north of le mans have stayed there a couple of times they do overnight stops.

but if you can manage it have a look at the le mans 24hour museum.

Hope this helps. There also in the les-castels chain.

Paul, I have stayed on the Falaise site on my first night of my holiday, which starts last week in July every year, for the last 6 years. I have a 7 mvan and I have never had any problems either accessing the site or the pitches. The site can get full in late July / August and perhaps arriving in the evening will leave only smallish pitches. I normally arrive at 7pm and have always found no problem. The site featured on PC about 2 or 3 issues ago.
